After consistent follow-up with the administration, we are glad to share this important update.
As you must be aware, for the upcoming NMMC elections the existing ward formations have been revised and a Panel System of 3 wards has been introduced.
The region under the pre-existing #Ward No. 64 (which was represented by me) is now proposed to be clubbed with pre-existing Ward 60 ( Sector 9) & Ward 61 (Sector 10) and is restructured as Panel No. 27*. The proposed formulation *doesn’t include Sector 3 & 6, as they have been merged with the proposed Panel No. 28 i.e. with the Vashi Gaon region.
On 17th Feb, NMMC had organized ‘Suggestions and Objections Hearing’ where about 150+ residents from both Sector 3 and 6 registered their strong objection to the proposed formulation and requested the Corporation to keep the Ward formation unchanged as before (i.e. as part of Panel No. 27). The hearing was organized on very short notice but still, many residents were present in person to object to the decision. The aspirations, issues, and demography of the residents are very different in both areas. Combining any of the Sectors 3 and Sector 6 comprises of a very heterogenous, multicultural crowd having a vastly different infrastructure from Vashi Gaon shall only lead to graver conflicts, uninformed decision making, and under-development of the region.
To everyone’s surprise, a senior political leader who hails from Sector 6 the same region not only opposed to the demands of honorable residents but also suggested/ demanded merging Sector 7 and 8 (along with Sector 3 and 6) with Panel 28 i.e. Vashi Gaon. It was evident that such demands were raised by deprioritizing the interest and demands of local residents and were only for personal benefits. This is unfortunate that the self-proclaimed socio-political leaders are not even aware of the people’s issues and are more concerned about their personal gains.
I HAVE REGISTERED MY STRONG OBJECTION TO SUCH SELF-INTEREST-DRIVEN DEMANDS & INSTEAD HAVE REQUESTED NMMC TO KEEP THE WARD INTACT (as before) & REGROUP Sector 3 & Sector 6 AS A PART OF THE PROPOSED PANEL No. 27.
YOU & I TOGETHER HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR CITY AS A FAMILY FOR YEARS & I FEEL THE RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS YOU THE HONOURABLE RESIDENTS WHO ENTRUSTED ME WITH THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BEING YOUR REPRESENTATIVE IN NMMC & hence, I HAVE ALWAYS STOOD FOR MY PEOPLE & I SHALL CONTINUE TO DO SO.
