For more than 22 years, the residents of Angarikta and Adhivinayak societies in Sector 3 and 5, Vashi, have been united by the tradition of celebrating the public Ganesh Utsav with deep devotion and social togetherness. Over time, this location naturally became a central point of cultural importance for families living across the area.
Considering the long-standing tradition and the sentiments of the people, local residents proposed that the spot be officially recognised as “Shri Ganesh Chowk.” After presenting the request through proper communication and community representation, the suggestion was accepted, bringing immense joy to the devotees and families who have nurtured this identity for decades.
To mark this meaningful moment, an inauguration ceremony of Shri Ganesh Chowk was organised on
Saturday, 19th January 2013 at 6:00 PM
at the Angarikta & Adhivinayak Society Chowk, Sector 3, Vashi.

Residents, community representatives, senior citizens, youth groups and local leaders gathered to celebrate the naming of this cultural landmark. The event highlighted the importance of preserving traditions and strengthening the spiritual identity of the neighbourhood.
The inauguration of Shri Ganesh Chowk stands as a symbol of unity, devotion and the collective pride of the community. More than a geographical point, it represents the shared emotions, cultural heritage and togetherness that have grown here for over two decades.
This milestone reflects how community-led initiatives, rooted in faith and tradition, can shape and enrich the cultural landscape of an entire neighbourhood.
