On 24 July 2010, a Green Hope Tree Plantation Drive was organised at Sector 1A and Sagar Vihar, bringing together residents, volunteers and nature enthusiasts to strengthen the green cover of the neighbourhood.
The initiative aimed at encouraging environmental responsibility, improving air quality and preserving natural beauty along the waterfront stretch of Sagar Vihar. A variety of saplings were planted, focusing on species that grow well in coastal conditions and contribute to long-term ecological balance.
Participants—including youth groups, senior citizens and families—actively took part in planting and watering the saplings, reinforcing the spirit of community-led environmental stewardship.
The drive served as a reminder that small, collective actions can greatly contribute to a healthier and greener Navi Mumbai.
