#Sharing an important message translated from ABP News app Marathi of Maharashtra Energy Minister Dr Nitin Raut.
As you all are aware that, due to Lockdown the load on the MSEB system is reduced than usual. Accordingly, Power Generation has also been reduced. Due to this many a times you may have experienced high voltage or fluctuation.
Now if we turn off all electrical appliances at home at 9:00 PM on 5th April 2020, Sunday night, the demand for electricity will suddenly fall and hence all the power generating sets may stop suddenly. Therefore to prevent this from happening, we just have to turn off the lights (Bulb, Tubes lights). Other appliances like Fan, Fridge and Motors should be kept ON so that the power grid will remain operational. If the central grid fails, it can usually take 12 to 14 hours to restart. Similarly, after shutting down the entire load and restarting it at the same time, the transformer, feeder my get short/fused & this will also take more time to recover. Therefore all MSEB Users/Customers are requested to turn off the lighting equipment only, if required. Check that the rest of the load will continue and kindly please do co-operate MSEB.
