Healthcare support becomes truly effective when people can easily understand their rights, resolve documentation issues and access government-backed medical schemes without confusion. To bridge this gap, an ESIS Janta Darbar was organised as a dedicated forum for individuals covered under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIS).
The initiative provided a clear, supportive and well-structured platform where ESIS beneficiaries—including working individuals, labourers, domestic workers, families and senior citizens—could openly share their difficulties and receive personalised guidance.
Common concerns raised during the session included:
Guidance for ESIS health benefits and entitlements
ESIS card updates and corrections
Access to hospital facilities and authorised medical centres
Issues related to eligibility, renewal and documentation
Delays in claim approvals
Each grievance was carefully recorded and categorised. Wherever possible, immediate resolutions were provided on the spot, especially in cases related to digital corrections or documentation. Issues requiring official verification or department-level follow-up were escalated promptly through proper channels to ensure timely action.
The ESIS Janta Darbar was more than a grievance window—it served as an awareness platform. Many workers and families gained clarity on the benefits available to them, such as medical reimbursement, maternity support, preventive health check-ups, disability benefits and sickness allowance.
Participants expressed relief that such an initiative allowed them to understand bureaucratic processes with ease, especially those who find online or office-based systems difficult to navigate.
By bringing health-benefit assistance directly to the community, the ESIS Janta Darbar reinforced a commitment to accessible healthcare, transparency and people-first service, ensuring no ESIS beneficiary is left confused or unsupported.
