Today’s ‘Chipko Aandolan’ (an attempt to save 400+ fully grown trees which are at the danger of being cut due to the proposed Sector 17 Mahatma Phule Junction- Kopri flyover) by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Navi Mumbai has been a success and we would like to sincerely thank all the residents, civil society members, and political activists who joined us for a noble cause.
We would like to specially thank the Hon’ble Minister Shri Jitendra Awahad for his gracious presence and support for our cause. His participation gave us all the much needed hope that ‘People’s Voice Matters!’
I’m also thankful for the kind words of the Hon’ble Minister who, in his interview acknowledged our initiatives to fight for an environmentally sustainable development and narrated our ordeal of getting threat calls for standing up for a people’s cause!
